Lake Harbor
by Larry J. Novotny
Lake Harbor and the lower Lake Okeechobee area has long been one of the poorest
parts of the country, ironic being situated amongst vast sugar cane fields and
in an hour’s drive east or west, you are amongst the wealthiest areas in the
United States.
This fishing harbor and canal is typical of the area being run down and people
surviving, making a living of sorts with what they have.
